GUVK is used for alignment of heading and navigation systems of carrier-based aircraft during preparation to the flight.
The system receives roll/pitch angles, geographical position, components of linear speed over ground, and heading from onboard inertial navigation and stabilization systems or integrated navigation systems.
Heading error (Р=0.997) is max 20' over 6 minutes.
