24th Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems
The Organizing and International Program Committees of the 24th Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems (24 ICINS 2017) invite specialists in the field of navigation and motion control to take part in the Conference.
The Conference will be held by the State Research Center of the Russian Federation – Concern Central Scientific and Research Institute Elektropribor, JSC on 29 - 31 May 2017.
This annual Conference has become a traditional event for scientists and engineers from all over the world involved in navigation and motion control to share the results of their investigations and discuss prospects for the future.
PLENARY PAPER PRESENTATION

A multimedia projector is available at the Conference to demonstrate computer presentation.
Need in any additional equipment should be announced beforehand.
To make the slides more informative please prepare the visual aids for your paper, complying with the following requirements:
ATTENTION!
1. To help the interpreters in their work, please send the preliminary version of your presentation ONLINE via conference management system CoMS-Elektropribor to the working group of the Organizing Committee by May 12, 2017.
2. You must have a carrier with the final version of your presentation at the conference.
The USB-memory device, CD, DVD should be used as carriers for your final presentation.

CONFERENCE TOPICS
Inertial Sensors, Navigation and Orientation Systems
Each topic covers the following aspects:
The Conference does not cover the issues related to military and technical cooperation, development of military technologies and weapons.
The Program Committee considers it expedient to include survey papers and papers by young scientists (under 33 years old) in the Conference Program.
CONFERENCE LANGUAGES
All presentations at the Conference will be held in English or Russian and will be simultaneously translated.
CONFERENCE FORMAT
The Conference program includes plenary and poster papers.
Three invited papers and Panel Discussion are scheduled.
Proposals for the topics of Panel Discussion are accepted by the Program Committee
Abstracts of 600 words (not characters!) in English complying with the guidelines for abstract preparation should be submitted online via the Conference Management System CoMS-Elektropribor
Abstracts not complying with the above requirements or submitted after the deadline indicated in the IMPORTANT DATES section will not be considered by the Program Committee.
The accepted papers are published in the Conference Proceedings. The papers should be prepared according to the paper guidelines and submitted online via CoMS-Elektropribor system.
Abstracts and papers sent by e-mail will not be accepted.
SCHEDULE
Presentation of plenary papers (including discussion) should be 20 minutes long.
The authors of poster papers at the plenary session are given 3 minutes to present the main idea of the paper with 1-2 slides, if any; further discussion will continue at the posters.
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
The Conference Proceedings (texts of invited, plenary and poster papers) will be available for the conferees at the registration.
The Conference Proceedings will be indexed in Scopus, an international citation database.
Papers based on the presentations recommended by the Program Committee will be published in the journal Gyroscopy and Navigation.

The Conference fee is $450 if paid before 01 April 2017 and $500 if paid after 01 April 2017.
For students and post-graduates the conference fee is reduced by 50%: $225 and $250 respectively.

The Conference is held during the season of the White Nights. Guided city tour will be arranged for the participants of the Conference.

On 29 – 31 May 2017 the 24th Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems (24 ICINS 2017) was held by the Scientific Research Center of Russia – Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC.
The Conference was held with support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the International Public Association – the Academy of Navigation and Motion Control, National Research University ITMO, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - the Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society (IEEE-AESS), L’Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France (AAAF), L’institut Français de Navigation (IFN), Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Ortung und Navigation (DGON) (German Institute of Navigation), and Journal Giroskopiya i Navigatsiya (in Russian, published by the Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC, Russia).
The International Program Committee formed of the leading scientists from France, Germany, Russia, and USA, headed the Conference.
Chairman of the International Program Committee - Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir G. Peshekhonov.
The Conference languages were Russian and English. Simultaneous translation from Russian into Englishand from English into Russian was provided.
Specialists from the following 15 states took part in the Conference: Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, USA.
The Conference was attended by 343 participants; of them 42 specialists represented 23 foreign companies (including 4 persons from 2 organizations of Ukraine, 1 person from Belarus) and 301 participants were delegated from 78 organizations of Russia.
15 young scientists were delegated to the Conference without payment of Conference fee by the Organizing Committee of the 19th Conference of Young Scientists Navigation and Motion Control (held mainly in Russian), of them 10 participants presented their poster papers.
One of the papers was presented by Lyceum no. 329 pupil I.A. Shamov who was a participant of session ‘Navigation and Motion Control in School Projects’ organized for the first time this year in the frame of the 19th Conference of Young Scientists Navigation and Motion Control.
Conference presentations were distributed between the following 4 Sessions:
The Conference did not cover the issues related to military and technical cooperation, development of military technologies and weapons.
The Conference format comprised invited, plenary and poster papers.
At the Conference sessions 105 papers were presented: 3 invited, 19 plenary and 83 poster paper.
At session INTEGRATED SYSTEMS Prof. D. Moormann (RWTH Aachen University, Germany) presented his invited paper An Integrated Navigation Approach for Autonomous Operation of a Parcel Delivery UAV.
The second invited paper Problems and Features of Navigation and Motion Control for Nanosatellites: Design Experience and Lessons Learned was presented at Session III - SPACECRAFT CONTROL AND NAVIGATION by D. Eng. Sc. Prof. I.V. Belokonov (the paper was prepared by the group of scholars from Korolev National Research University (Samara University), Russia).
The third invited paper Satellite Methods for Gravity Field Study. Status and Development Prospects prepared by the group of scholars from JSC Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems, Russia, was presented at Session IV – METHODS AND MEANS OF GRAVITY FIELD MEASUREMENT by D. Eng. Sc. V.E. Kosenko.
The authors of poster papers at the plenary sessions were given 3 min to present the main idea of the paper with 1-2 slides, if any; further discussion of papers was continued at the posters.
Participants eagerly exchanged their opinions in informal discussions at the posters and on the sidelines of the Conference.
By the Conference beginning the Conference Proceedings containing full texts of plenary and poster papers were published as books in English (indexed in international citation index Scopus) and in Russian (indexed in Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI)) and in the form of CD-ROM comprising the Conference Proceedings (in two languages together).
The Russian volume comprised the papers only by the authors from Russia and CIS states.
The best papers presented by participants at the Conference sessions, selected by Session Chairmen and by the members of the Conference Program Committee, were recommended for publication as articles in the scientific and technical journal Giroskopiya i Navigatsiya (included into the List of scientific journals of the Russian State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, and indexed in Russian Science Citation Index) and in journal Gyroscopy & Navigation indexed in international database SCOPUS.
During the Conference ACUTRONIC Switzerland Ltd. company together with JSC Davia showed an Angular Vibrator Table 105-AVT to the audience.
Ostec-Test company (Moscow) demonstrated a single-axis motion simulator. The simulator is intended for tests and calibration of inertial systems, sensors, gyros, SINS, MEMS.
The test-beds evoked the great interest of the Conference participants.
On 29 May 2017 after the Conference session a boat trip along the rivers and channels of St. Petersburg was organized for the conferees (and their accompanying persons) with the visit to St. Isaac’s Cathedral.
The tour participants enjoyed it very much, gave positive feedbacks and thanked the Organizing Committee for the interesting and informative tour.
The Conference was held at high scientific and organizational level.
During the Conference its participants succeeded in elucidating and considering state-of-the-art of scientific and technical development and problems in the field of navigation and control of motion, getting new information and exchanging their ideas.
It has been almost a quarter of century that the Conference remains essential for scientists and specialists of many countries.
According to participants’ estimates, the 24th Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems was successful and affirmed its status of the largest scientific event in Russia in the field of gyroscopic and navigation technology.
Invited speaker Prof. D. Moormann expressed his gratitude for significant quality of the conference organization and holding and for the great work in Russia in the field of navigation and autonomous operation of unmanned systems.
The regular 25th Saint Petersburg International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems (25 ICINS 2018)will be held on 28-30 May 2018.

Text of the paper abstract of 600 words should be prepared in English and submitted ONLINE to the Conference Organizing Committee via Conference Management System CoMS-Elektropribor at http://comsep.ru
Abstract submission deadline is 1 November 2016.
The abstract should state the goal, principal points and conclusions of the study.
Avoid abbreviations unless commonly accepted ones (e.g. GPS, GLONASS, etc.).
The use of references, figures, and formulas is not recommended.
